in this section people give a topic...some topic locked after 10 replies some topic locked after 17 replies....so there is no limit...make rule that after 15 replies topic will lock in this section..thank you In love

Well arif bro,,
topic's reply depend on the solvetion of that topic.

Some problems are solved by two/three replies and some topics are needed to be discussed with many replies!!

Reply's amount is dependent on the topic!

i think the topic should never be locked, leave it open for welcomes. I dnt know why the rule is to lock it soo early.

locking topics depends on the nature of that particular topic and mods have the right to lock any topic without further notice.
If you have problems with someone locking your topic you can PM him and ask him to reopen it. If he thinks you have a good reason then he would open it.
Some topics such as introductions do need to be locked. This includes topics whose purpose of discussion has been met.
But apart from that I dont find any need in locking a topic

All in all I dont think we need any limitation as you suggested arif. Mods should have the right to lock any topic.If you think your topic has been locked too soon you can discuss with the mod who locked it or with pink. If you have a strong reason why it should be unlocked it will be done .

If u don`t lock intro , thousand of reply will be in one topic....we also have to think about bandwidth of the forum....

i suggest that our lovely site admin should post a reminder for new users, that new registered users are unable to reply or welcome the old registered users. one more thing is, it depends on the date of the post, it should be considered to look also.

Wow camhe, i just came here to put the same idea which knocks my mind before a while. but i see u preceded me Laugh

Anyways, it seems a great idea to make this matter depends on time not on numbers of posts. Therefore, and presonally, i think four to six days for each single new topic in this section is enough to be welcomed by all REGULARS members here, except VIP members like admins or mig33stuffs, we can extend it by forword their welcome time. or make it totally free.

And it is a good idea to announce an announcement by our announcer Cheeky

"pink" which describes about this matter :

"new users cannot welcome the users who already are existing here (you just can welcome users who came after you, but not before)" Smile

ok, now cambo forum has 242 registered user........if they gv welcome each other, there will be 242 into 242 = 58564 reply.
one day cambo forum will have 1000 user 1 day,what will do when that user will reply in old users introduction

welcoming each other is nice, then why should we make it such a big issue?
it shows that forum users feel happy when new user joins,
what would you feel when you introduce yourself in a forum and get nothing in reply?
what would you feel when theres nobody or just few people welcoming you?

anyway i said that locking introduction forum is fine
but not other sections

for my part when new user will join here, that topic should be locked after 3/4 days,thats why we can get enough time to welcoming him, then topic is valueless nd should lock... Smile

The purpose of showing the number of posts is to show how much the user is regular here.
since "To share" means to give a nice reply of your views that would everybody get a point an a benefit from you.
It is not just filling it by welcomes and thanks "like some of users do" without giving any sense of views.
cause if it is so, in the result, a boring forum will born ! And you can see other forums are really boring due to this problem.

However, LOCK IT OR UNLOCK IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL

Anyways , it is all between pink-jasmine's hands, to say yes or no. i will call her for this, Then this matter will be closed and terminated before it becomes like a hassle

@azzrail, three to six days are enough for regular users

As Forum Rule of Moderators Section, in Self Introduction, it need to lock between from 10-15 posts to avoid over load of greeting.I think it is enough for greeting each new members.And sometimes the post can increase to a lil more bec of many greeting before Moderators lock.

I hope it does not have any big deal in Self Introduction Section.
If any members want to greeting or late to reply ur Good Friend while topic already locked , Pls feel free PM our Moderators or me.

I hope it make you all clear answer In love

for avoiding any misunderstanding between us.
